The
phantom lady of this particular lake in the park is thought to have
been the wife of an army sergeant who was based nearby. Discovering
her infidelity, he decapitated her, hid her head and threw the body
into the lake.
Her revenant has been seen slowly and silently rising up from the
centre of the lake, and then drifts silently onto dry land where
she suddenly breaks into a wild, crazed run towards some bushes
where she disappears, forced to roam the park for all eternity looking
for the hiding place of her severed head.
