Located in Ely Court, an atmospheric narrow twisting alleyway just north of Holborn Circus and dating back to the mid-fifteen hundreds, the haunted Ye Olde Mitre Tavern is more an auditory experience than a visual manifestation.

       Phantom footsteps from long ago are sometimes heard ascending the staircase and entering the upstairs room - but no-one is ever found to be there. Other footsteps have been heard outside the pub, stopping before the outside door creaks open to reveal there is nobody to be seen.
